Preschool at Monkey Puzzle: A Seamless Transition for Your Child
Monkey Puzzle Preschool follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring that children receive a well-rounded education based on their developmental needs. This framework covers learning and development through areas such as communication, physical development, personal, social, and emotional development, and literacy. By adhering to EYFS, Monkey Puzzle provides an engaging, balanced curriculum that fosters curiosity, creativity, and academic growth while supporting children in building essential skills for their future school experience.
Why choose Monkey Puzzle Preschools for your child?
Within our Preschool room, there are some guided learning areas, such as a construction area, a home corner, a book area, and creative spaces for music and art. To complement these, we provide a range of areas and activities which all serve different purposes. We want to inspire your child’s imagination and role play so they’ll be able to safely explore feelings and friendships, develop problem-solving, and have space available where they can have quiet time and reflection.
Their time in the preschool environment leads them towards starting their school journey, where their first year at school sees them complete their Early Years Foundation Stage journey that began at our nursery. We want to ensure that all of our children are ready for their transition to school and help to make this change as easy as possible.
Our small class sizes, individualised approach, and nurturing curriculum foster essential skills like social interaction, independence, and academic readiness. We create a foundation of trust and growth, preparing children for future school success while maintaining a supportive, close-knit community. Choose Monkey Puzzle for an enriched preschool experience that builds on your child’s unique potential.
The transition from Toddlers to Preschool
It’s important that your child has a smooth, consistent and familiar transition from nursery to preschool. Your child will benefit from a stable environment, with familiar caregivers who understand their needs. Children thrive in an environment where they feel safe and secure, while developing the essential skills for future school success.
I do not need childcare, why should I consider sending my child to Preschool?
Preschool provides essential benefits for children who have not attended nursery. It helps them develop foundational skills in socialisation, communication, and early learning. Preschool programs offer structured activities that promote independence, cognitive growth, and emotional development in a safe, supportive setting. Attending preschool also prepares children for the school environment by introducing routines and group interactions. With skilled educators, small class sizes, and a nurturing atmosphere, the personalized attention and developmentally appropriate activities ensure your child’s readiness for the next educational step, all while laying the foundation for a love of learning.
Preparing your child for School Readiness
Preschool is a critical step in preparing children for school and beyond. It helps develop cognitive skills, emotional intelligence, and social competence. By fostering early learning in a structured yet creative environment, children gain a head start in literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving. Preschool also encourages positive peer interactions, building confidence and social skills that are essential as they grow. The stability of familiar caregivers and routines also eases the transition to formal schooling, ensuring children are equipped to succeed academically and emotionally.

School Council Ambassadors!
We have elected our first ever School Council Ambassadors! We have been discussing how to improve our menus and what we think will be popular choices with their friends. Our school council suggested more pasta bakes and they wanted to see plums for snack! They did so well and have been working hard to think about what our next topic is going to be.
